* Booking.com (BKNG) - A sympathy play. When positive news of Moderna's (MRNA) COVID-19 vaccine hit the market Tuesday afternoon, the first group of stocks to react were travel stocks. As airlines, cruise lines and other travel-related stocks were some of the first to fall on coronavirus news back in February and March, these stocks have proved to be some of the most sensitive to further developments with the outbreak. Booking shares were up 3% in Wednesday's pre-market session.

* Planet Fitness (PLNT) - A play on recent institutional interest. Just before the close on Tuesday, Benzinga Pro's Signals tool alerted users to a 511,000 share block trade in Planet Fitness. This equated to a single trade of $28 million.

* Abbott (ABT) - An earnings play. Will report quarterly results before market open on Thursday.

* Mallinckrodt (MNK) - A play on an upcoming FDA date. On Wednesday, the Cardiovascular and Renal Drugs Advisory Committee is scheduled to discuss the company's new drug application for its Type 1 hepatorenal syndrome treatment.
