10:23 Wednesday, April 28, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Shares of Unitil Corp. (UTL) are gaining over 12% on Wednesday morning after the company said it will be joining S&P SmallCap 600 index.

UTL is currently trading at $55.94, up $5.99 or 11.98%, on the Nasdaq.

Unitil Corp. will be replacing Waddell & Reed Financial Inc. (WDR) in the S&P SmallCap 600, as Macquarie Group is acquiring Waddell & Reed in a deal expected to be completed soon.

Unitil, a public utility holding company, engages in the distribution of electricity and natural gas.
