(XM) are up more than 16% Thursday morning on better-than-expected first-quarter results. The company also provided second-quarter and full-year outlook, better than the Street view.

Earnings on an adjusted basis of $0.01 per share beat the average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters at $0.03 loss per share.

First-quarter net loss was $199.9 million, or $0.41 per share, compared with net loss of $44.8 million, or $0.11 per share in the same quarter a year ago.

Revenue for the quarter increased to $238.6 million from $176.1 million one year ago on 46% growth in subscription revenue.

Looking forward to the second quarter, the company sees revenue between $240 and $242 million. Analysts see revenue of $230.12 million for the quarter. Adjusted loss per share is expected in the range of $0.03- $0.01. The consensus estimate stands at $0.04 loss per share.

For the full-year, revenue is expected between $980 million $984 million This compares with the Street view of $955.33 million. Adjusted loss per share is expected to be in the range of $0.13- $0.11. The consensus estimate stands at $0.17 loss per share.

XM, currently at $39.23, has been trading in the range of $30.49- $57.28 in the past 52 weeks.
