07:49 Monday, March 15, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Shares of blockchain technology company Ebang International Holdings Inc. (EBON) are climbing more than 12% in the pre-market trade on Monday.

On March 11, Ebang had announced that it was planning to start beta testing its cryptocurrency exchange on March 15 "by invitation only". Official launch of the exchange is expected by the end of March 2021. Dong Hu, Chairman and CEO of the company, had commented, "Our upcoming cryptocurrency exchange will accelerate the Company's development in the financial technology industry. In addition to establishing a digital asset financial service platform, the Company will also explore other business opportunities in establishing mining farms and cryptocurrency mining to optimize the structure of the global cryptocurrency platform as well as our offerings in the blockchain industry value chain."

EBON closed Friday's regular trading at $10.40, up 35.24%.
