AXIS Insurance Advances Growth of U.S. Excess Casualty Team With Appointments of Jonathan Martin and Jennifer Fisher

PEMBROKE, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 16, 2020--AXIS Insurance, the specialty insurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited ("AXIS Capital") (NYSE:AXS), today announced the hiring of Jonathan Martin and Jennifer Fisher as Vice President and Assistant Vice President, respectively, within the Company's U.S. Excess Casualty underwriting team.

"Jonathan and Jennifer are established Excess Casualty underwriters who will help support the growth of our Excess Casualty business as market conditions continue to improve," said Mike Flaherty, President, U.S. Casualty at AXIS Insurance. "Their underwriting expertise and market experience will enable us to further support our wholesale broker partners and the complex risk needs of their clients."

Mr. Martin joins AXIS following more than 12 years' experience at Gen Star Management where he held a variety of underwriting positions across Primary and Excess Casualty lines through wholesale brokers. His most recent position with the firm was Vice President at Gen Re where he was responsible for underwriting Casualty Facultative reinsurance on an individual risk and program basis, including Construction, Auto Liability and High Excess Liability. Mr. Martin also worked in Excess Casualty underwriting roles in the New York and Chicago offices while at General Star.

Ms. Fisher was most recently a Senior Underwriter, Excess Casualty, at Hallmark Financial Services. Previously, Ms. Fisher was an Inside Casualty Broker at CRC Insurance Services. She began her career at Liberty International Underwriters as an Excess Casualty Underwriter.
