10:46 Tuesday, December 14, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Shares of Cabaletta Bio, Inc. (CABA) tanked over 65% on Tuesday morning after the company reported top-line biologic activity data from two lowest dose cohorts in DesCAARTes trial in patients with mucosal pemphigus vulgaris.

CABA is currently trading at $4.08, down $8.43 or 67.3861%, on the Nasdaq.

Pemphigus vulgaris is a rare skin disorder characterized by blistering of the skin and mucous membranes. This autoimmune disorder can affect the mouth, nose, throat, eyes, and genitals. Although there is no cure yet for pemphigus vulgaris, there are a few treatment options like corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, and Roche's Rituxan.

As of December 12, 2021, six patients, comprising the two lowest dose cohorts (20 million and 100 million DSG3-CAART cells administered without lymphodepletion) had completed three to six months of follow-up for evaluation of DSG3-CAART biologic activity. Patients enrolled had persistent mild to moderate disease severity prior to infusion despite receiving or having received systemic medication for treatment of their mPV symptoms prior to enrollment.
