European ETF Market Wrap: Flows, Performance and Leaders | Week 37, 2026
Here’s a recap of European ETF action between September 7 and September 11, from our data partners, Trackinsight, highlighting how capital moved and performance varied across asset classes, regions, and themes.
According to data by Trackinsight , European-listed ETFs and ETPs recorded strong net inflows across the major asset classes. Equity products led with €32.69 billion , followed by fixed income with €6.41 billion and commodities with €2.07 billion . Cryptocurrency products attracted €149.0 million, volatility products €82.2 million and multi-asset ETFs €38.0 million.
Health Care Leads Sector ETF Inflows
Health Care ETFs led sector flows with €1.28 billion of inflows , followed by Materials at €621.6 million and Information Technology at €363.3 million. Real Estate attracted €250.5 million and Financials €227.4 million. Consumer Discretionary recorded the largest sector outflow at €124.5 million , followed by Utilities at €107.8 million and Energy at €39.8 million.
Energy Leads Sector Performance
Energy was the strongest-performing sector, gaining 2.01% , followed by Communication Services at 0.84% and Information Technology at 0.06%. Health Care was the weakest sector with a 4.11% decline , while Materials fell 2.58%, Real Estate 2.01% and Industrials 1.87%.
World and Developed Markets Dominate Geographic Inflows
World equity ETFs attracted €9.31 billion , while Developed Markets gathered €8.27 billion . U.S.-focused products followed with €4.32 billion, Europe attracted €2.76 billion and Emerging Markets added €2.55 billion. Taiwan and Switzerland also recorded substantial inflows of €1.23 billion and €1.17 billion, respectively.
Germany posted the largest geographic outflow at €355.2 million , followed by China at €136.8 million, South Africa at €106.1 million and Canada at €103.6 million.
South Korea and Turkey Lead Geographic Performance
South Korea led geographic performance with a 3.46% gain , followed by Turkey at 3.30% and the UAE at 1.78%. Greater China recorded the largest decline at 5.22% , while Switzerland fell 4.22%, Romania 3.38% and Vietnam 3.20%.
Net Zero Leads Thematic ETF Flows
Net Zero 2050 attracted €1.30 billion , followed by Cybersecurity at €304.0 million and Robotics & Automation at €203.3 million. Global Infrastructure gathered €165.6 million, Cryptocurrency €136.9 million and Climate Action €121.3 million.
Branding and Luxury recorded the largest thematic outflow at €247.9 million , followed by Water at €185.4 million, Green Projects at €97.7 million and Strategic Metals at €86.6 million.
Wind Energy led thematic performance with a 1.29% gain , followed by Electrification at 0.99%, 5G at 0.96% and Cryptocurrency at 0.90%. China Digitalization was the weakest theme at -5.15% , followed by Healthcare Technology & Innovation at -4.91% and Nuclear Energy at -4.71%.
Government Bonds Lead Fixed Income Inflows
Government Investment Grade ETFs led fixed income with €2.62 billion of inflows , followed by Corporate Investment Grade at €863.2 million. Government Aggregate products attracted €499.3 million and Aggregate Investment Grade ETFs added €426.3 million. Aggregate Aggregate products recorded €92.5 million of outflows , while Corporate Aggregate ETFs lost €25.3 million.
Gold Dominates Commodity ETP Flows
Gold attracted €2.68 billion , followed by Silver with €109.9 million and Copper with €94.6 million. Base Metals added €34.5 million and Precious Metals €24.8 million.
Multi Commodities recorded the largest outflow at €643.9 million , followed by Crude Oil at €183.0 million and Agriculture at €170.8 million.
Bitcoin Leads Cryptocurrency ETP Inflows
Bitcoin products attracted €131.2 million , followed by Uniswap at €17.1 million and Near at €8.5 million. Ether gathered €4.0 million and Pendle €3.8 million. Morpho recorded the largest outflow at €9.7 million , while Multi-Cryptocurrency products lost €9.0 million.
