TD Power Systems raises ₹600 Crore through QIP, allotting 77.42 lakh shares at ₹775 each
Every data center, hydro dam and gas power plant has one unglamorous machine at its heart: a generator that turns spinning force into usable electricity. The world is short of them, and not for lack of demand. Building these machines takes specialised engineering, long lead times and a skilled workforce that can't be hired overnight. That is the backdrop for this fundraiser.
Shares of TD Power Systems Ltd . were trading at Rs. 794.80, down 3.72% from previous close of Rs. 825.65. The stock opened at Rs. 830.00 and reached an intraday high of Rs. 832.00 and low of Rs. 793.25. The company currently has a market capitalization of Rs. 24, 896 crores.

In Q1 FY27 TD Power Systems Ltd., consolidated net profit increased by 72.34 percent YoY, reaching Rs. 86.29 crore compared to Rs. 50.07 crore during the same period last year. As compared to Q4 FY26, the net profit has increased by 19.53 percent, from Rs. 72.19 crore. The basic earnings per share stood at Rs. 5.52 as against Rs. 3.21 recorded in the same quarter in the previous year, FY2026.
TD Power makes generators and motors, and its mix leans heavily towards generators for turbines and engines. That covers steam and gas turbines, hydro units, and gas and diesel engine sets. The company's own commentary points to gas engine generators for US data centers and hydro projects as the two segments pulling hardest right now, with exports clearly the bigger engine of growth than domestic business.
The headline here is less important than the order book. It’s heavily weighted toward exports and spread across several segments, and no one project or customer tells the whole story. That visibility is over a number of quarters of work and comes with a stated plan of building capacity. The fresh capital allows for the addition of machines, removal of bottlenecks and funding of the working capital these large orders require, without relying on debt for a business already operating close to its limits.
Industry context
It's hard to argue with the demand picture. The IEA expects electricity demand from data centers to more than double from 460 TWh in 2024 to over 1,000 TWh by 2030, or about 3% of total generation. Goldman Sachs estimates US data center power demand will jump from 31 GW in 2025 to around 66 GW in 2027. That sort of load can’t wait for the grid to catch up.
Supply is the bottleneck, and that is where a company like TD Power finds its opening. GE Vernova alone reported a gas power equipment backlog of 116 GW as of Q2 2026. BofA analysts note that large gas turbines are largely sold out through 2030, pushing data center developers towards on-site gas engines. Suppliers of engine and turbine generators sit right in the path of that shift.
