GSK to Advance mRNA Influenza Vaccine Into Phase III Development
GSK announced it will begin a Phase III efficacy study of its mRNA-based seasonal flu vaccine in September 2026, following positive Phase II results showing higher immune responses than standard and high-dose flu vaccines. The vaccine uniquely targets both HA and NA antigens, unlike most existing flu vaccines. The FDA granted Fast Track designation to the candidate. Moderna's mFlusiva mRNA flu vaccine was recently approved by the FDA for adults 50+.
