No. Everything is far too interconnected for this to make any meaningful difference (except for maybe higher fees), even if you're stock picking much less going for index funds.
So, no real financial reason to do it, and no real outcome-based reason to do it. Main motivator might be signaling to your peer group that your virtuous, I suppose. Social desirability bias is an incredibly strong motivator.
With that said, I do buy XOP and USO. :-)
