You're in an enviable position, but that AMZN concentration is concerning. At 65, having 50% of your investments in a single stock creates unnecessary risk, regardless of how well Amazon has performed.
Consider gradually selling portions of your Amazon position and diversifying into a mix of dividend stocks and growth. The 10-year timeline gives you flexibility, but protecting your capital should be the priority now.
For someone in your situation, a 60/40 or 50/50 split between growth and dividend stocks makes sense. Companies like Microsoft, Apple, and Johnson & Johnson offer both growth and dividends. Index funds like SCHD or VYM provide diversified dividend exposure with less volatility.
With $3.4M in investments plus real estate income, you're well-positioned for retirement. Your current cash reserve of $250K (roughly 7% of your portfolio) is reasonable.
The key is to make this transition gradually - perhaps selling 10-15% of your Amazon position annually to minimize tax impact while reducing concentration risk. Talk to a tax professional before making any moves since you're dealing with significant capital gains.

3 fund portfolio is a good way to go. VOO - QQQ - SCHD. Or equivalents. SPLG - QQQM/SCHG - SCHD/VYM etc.

I would guess your three (including VONG) are VTI and VYM?? That's a nice round portfolio with VYM having a play in value stocks. Am I right?? Growth + Stable Income (no bonds) + General market coverage...

Exactly. SPLG is a more ‘affordable’ version of VOO. QQQM and SCHG are relatively comparable for growth. SCHD and VYM are both great dividend focused ETFs. A young person should focus on growth when time is on their side. Provided you are buying these in tax advantaged accounts. 401K and IRA. You can sell tax free and focus to income later on when you’re older and your account is larger.

How so, can you please expand upon that? By the way I messed up in my initial post and meant to say I'm below 20 years old, so I really just look at what people say sounds good which is a lot of Vanguard stuff. I have 2 shares each in VB, VT, VYM, VOO, and a few others, and like 5 shares of BND once it hit $69 (don't ask) because I felt it might at least make me a little. Like I said, so far steady, but should I really invest in individual companies? Also, I apologize for throwing this all on you, I'm just really interested in feedback and am new to a lot of this system.

That’s awesome progress for being just 20! For a dividend portflio, you can start small with solid ETFs like SCHD or VYM that give you exposure to divdend stocks, have you considered focusing on these types of ETFs frst to ease into it?

If you’re young. A 3 fund portfolio with SPLG/VOO - QQQM/SCHG - SCHD/VYM will outperform that. Convert to income later. That being said, if you just want to see those dividends hit, it ain’t bad either.
