Physical asset moats are rare but powerful. Think infrastructure: railroads (UNP, CNI), pipelines (ENB, KMI), toll roads (BIP.UN). Also mining with strategic locations (Rio Tinto's Pilbara iron ore) or telecom towers (AMT, CCI). The key is replacement cost being multiples of book value and regulatory barriers to new entrants.

KMI and TEVA were retail darlings 10+ years ago until shareholders were left holding the bag. Interesting to see you mention both as outperformers, I'd stopped watching them years ago. I guess there was value there after the deep selloff. Well done!

True. Also note that if ENB is held in a US IRA it is exempt from Canadian tax withholding which makes the yield quite attractive, in a non-IRA you can claim a foreign tax credit. I’ve had ENB for years. Previously held KMI and sold.

$EPD and $KMI: nobody ever talks about pipelines here, but it's 3x since I bought it in Nov 2020
$PBR: Traded it long and short ever since Summer 2006. It has been an excellent stock for me throughout the years. Rode from 6 to 20 between 2006 and 2008, shorted from 5 to 2 in 2014, and went back in 7 since early 2023
$TEVA: largest genetic drug maker in the world, nobody ever talks about it here. 2x since I followed Stan Druckenmiller on this one a year ago.
