Investing in unlisted shares feels super risky precisely because you can't get the full picture of the company's health.
The same issue pops up with IPOs, where the promoter really dictates the price. A big name like Tata could probably set their IPO at 10 times book value, and retail investors would buy it just because it's "Tata," without doing their homework.
Even if Tata chose to set a more reasonable valuation (like they did for Tata Capital), Same for HDB Financial Services. you have other cases like Lenskart, where the promoter's main goal seems to be pumping up the valuation just to cash out.
I don't know about the NSE share but I just gave the ground reality
