The dude was classically driving people to other stocks, constantly equating popcorn with the one true stonk, laying out plenty of doublespeak and baseless soundbites about RC and the whole thesis. Deliberately muddying the waters and pushing distractions.
Think about this - the guy has more airtime on FOX than any other public figure who was openly talking about GME. Do you really think somebody on the side of apes would be willingly given public speaking opportunities by the very corporations who would hate to see this succeed?

No, Citadel has never held a significant short position in GME.
Ken Griffin became one of the memestock morons' boogymen after Citadel helped bail out Melvin post-squeeze.

I said this when it was first brought up. The only way eBay will merge with GME is for GME to lose control and RC will never do that.
Where we are going, 100 billion will be in these than 5 years.

He's could be correct. GME cannot reasonably afford to buy e Bay.
However, Baby? Absolutely. Here's it would work:
What I think a lot of people are missing is that when Ryan Cohen said the acquisition strategy could be “genius or foolish,” he wasn’t talking about one massive deal done overnight. He was talking about the strategy itself. Building something step-by-step that compounds over time.
If you study how he built Chewy and what he’s already done, the pattern is clear: he focuses on under-optimized consumer businesses with loyal customers, fixes them quickly using operational discipline and customer trust, captures the value, and then uses that stronger foundation to move on to the next acquisition.
The first acquisition doesn’t need to be the biggest company in the world. In fact, buying something enormous right away would actually be foolish because it would consume too much capital and limit flexibility. The smarter move is to acquire something affordable, recognizable, and fixable. Something that can be improved quickly and turned into a cash-flow engine.
That’s how you start a flywheel.
Once the first turnaround works, the market stops seeing GameStop as just a retailer and starts seeing it as a capital allocator. Similar in philosophy to what Warren Buffett built, but on a faster timeline. Each success makes the next acquisition easier, safer, and bigger.
Over time, the company naturally becomes a holding company, Not because it declares itself one, but because it behaves like one. Multiple businesses. Multiple income streams. Cash flow feeding future acquisitions.
This is how companies grow into hundreds of billions in value. Not in one leap, but by building a machine that compounds.
People may be expecting a home run immediately. But the truth is, the first move might look like a base hit.
And later, everyone will realize it was the start of the entire game.
E Bay checks all Cohen's boxes, but not GME's bank account. Even with 10 Billion Dollars.
Just break down baby and you can reason out vast possibilities. Yes, you have to have vision.

You must be new to investing. You seem confused. The most profitable company's stocks typically grow over time. Look at microsoft, google, amazon, meta, etc. Im not trying to 10x overnight. NvDA a solid company with great margins whose stock has grown consistently for years. Its kind of a no brainer. But hey go chase GME or whatever youre into. Its your money. My gains are doing fine over here.

When the price runs up there is positive sentiment and news cycles to explain the price running up. Rather than giving media something to blame, RC decided to throw in and set up a positive spin to the news this time around.
Previously the reason for GME run ups alluded to outages, glitches, etc. This is not good for GME for the long term, and makes institutions questions any legitimacy of GME being an actual company doing any substantial. This would 1) allow the shorts to push down the price; 2) force the US to treat the stock as a national threat to security.
Now that GME is better positioned for a (likely) M&A, and the same way GME took advantage of cycles to capitalize on the upswings, they decided to present a cleaner explanation for the price going up and use a pre-M&A announcement. This way if the price does explode in the short-/long-term, the reason is because RC said this M&A has “never been done before”.
The price explosion will still be controlled, going up, and in the future once the discussion of the stock dies down, the price can be fully realized and explanations for the stock market turmoil would no longer point to GME being the problem, rather, the solution.

That's what I thought.
That would explain the long period of calm since GME got cash. I don't realize how difficult it is to make deals at this level.

No one. I have GME shares. Just because someone doesn’t blindly agree with everything on this sub doesn’t mean they are paid to be here or don’t see potential. It’s ok to be critical. Some people as shocking as this may be to you have free thought. And I would never date you ;)

Well I actually don't sell cc on GME any more after my shares got called in the exact same time as you said above. I now sell puts on a few tickers including gme if I like the set up.
I typically sell 20-30 delta which usually ended up being around a dollar above/below current price.
That is the one problem is when it does pop a little three always a chance it keeps going. I would've just let them get called away at 25 and started selling puts at like 22-23 but hindsight is 20/20 as they say

Sounds like you probably bought at the $30's? Sorry about it if that's the case... I've been in since 2020, so I very well know the chart, as you can imagine 😊, same as I know issuing shares well above the intrinsic value per share makes it go up, as mentioned, it's simple math 🤷‍♂️
"The other thing that is obvious is GameStop keeps issuing millions and millions of shares, yet tangible book value and tangible book value per share are going up. It seems curious. However, when a company issues shares well above intrinsic value per share, intrinsic value per share goes up. It is expected, simple math. We can use tangible book value as a proxy for net asset value.
GameStop raised three point five billion dollars by selling stock into the May, June 2024, roaring kitty share spike. That stock was sold at five to eight times tangible book value per share, which then more than doubled. So in the end, GameStop has a higher net asset value per share and four X as much cash. Issuing so many shares way above tangible book value also increases the value of the old business and therefore helps preserve a larger portion of the aforementioned dollar. One point two billion net operating losses, NOLs, asset/tax shelter...".
I'd recommend reading MB's "Final Thoughts" from his last GME article.

I made just under $60k last year CONSERVATIVELY selling CCs on my GME. You can sit and wait for MOASS or you can actually make money. I’ll get blasted to hell, but I don’t believe MOASS can happen now because of the warrants and dilution. RC is giving the shorts a way out that will benefit the company in the long run… not a one time event that leaves him holding the bag after everyone sells.

TINY account: I sell super conservative spreads at least a month out once a week. My small amount of cash does slightly more work than sitting in a HYSA. Once or twice a week I’ll place a gambling trade and close it out after a small gain. We’re talkin “made twenty bucks for clicking buttons and waiting an hour.” It beats the index and is slightly more fun.
I want to decide between simply putting $50 a month into index funds and actually learning technical analysis. Someone please advise. I bought one single share of GME on the big day and have since treated trading and investing as my only video game. I’ve learned ins and outs of options trading but it still feels like I’m either being too careful or gambling. I feel like I’m on the cusp of seeing the light but my account is still under 10k.

yea? tell me which company issued shares "well above" their instrinsic value per share, and how the stock reacted EVERY SINGLE TIME cohen diluted GME's float. Want me to bring the 5y chart so we can discuss what the stock did EVERY SINGLE TIME cohen diluted? I can do this for you, if you wanna discuss.
