I've been investing since 2019. My dad has been a broker for 40 years. We've both never seen a mutual fund go up 20% in a day. That's unheard of.
The fund BPTRX has a 17.6% holding in SpaceX. Most of their positions were slightly down yesterday. SpaceX obviously doesn't trade publicly but I read an article from yesterday on Bloomberg saying they were in talks for a valuation of 800 billion. I think the last pricing was 350 billion. So it more than doubled.
BPTRX is one of the few ways to invest in SpaceX before it IPO's.
Additionally, if you own more than $40,000 in any of the Baron funds, you get invited to a killer annual investment conference in NYC where they have the CEOs of their partner funds come and talk (Elon Musk goes) and they give out free swag like awesome SpaceX branded shirts made by FIGS (one of their positions).
