Most of the crypto that gain traction are Meme coins that people hype up to try to sell to a bigger idiot then themself. The same can be said for bitcoin today, the core devs no longer focus on creating a crypto that could be used for transaction. Now they just market it as a store-of-value, which basicly means that you sell it to FIAT once you have earned enough money.
Now the only crypto's im interested in and that are still innvotaing in terms of being adopted as payment currencies is Nano and Monero. I feel the Nano and Monero community is the only communities that have not sold out on creating useless smart contract platforms that are only good for trading shitty Meme coins on Decenralized exachanges, or for creating stable coins which is bascilty just fiat. Who knew the biggest soloution to crypto was just using wrapped fiat xD

>It’s not that all of a sudden you can’t use it to transact
But this will happen. 99% will be priced out of onchain tx.
>Edit: maxis don’t change the code written
Yeah, the devs do and they are FIAT maxis.

Bitcoin is freedom when you make purchases and selling in a P2P scheme, use bisq or robosats to do that, or simply exchange your bitcoin with people you trust. Exchanges, banks, debit cards linked, they know what you have used the money for, they know the movement you have made with the bitcoin or with your FIAT they know how much you have worth of bitcoin or FIAT and you have to file a tax return.

it shows USD losing value against other FIAT currencies that are also losing value. This means that it has lost even more value than the 9%

Your characterization of bitcoin is wrong.
Bitcoin was not created to free anyone. It was created to resolve the doubble spending problem in a decentralized environment and remove incentive to avoid resolving disputes emerging in electronic payments.
Everything else is a very welcome circumstance. Read the white paper and let me know if you find a line that resembles something like: "central banks are evil, and they want to debase the currency, the Fed and the ECB have a conspiracy and they want you a slave, here's a solution".
We all agree FIAT is shit and central banks toilets. Byt bitcoin is nothing but a SYSTEM defined by a network, a currency, and a community. It's ever persisten digital ledger, and who owns it, owns it. Everyone has the freedom to own it, even -to my own detriment- ETFs.
If what you want is something "designed for freedom", whatever that may be, feel free to dig into shitcoins like Monero ornjust live in cash.
Remember: it's perfect money being used by non-perfect people.

The post that got me banned from r/Bitcoin:
Bitcoin doesn't solve any of our real issues. The real issue is not that most Americans drowning in insane debt and that BTC miraculously fixes that. It's like believing everyone can win the lottery and is able to pay off debt. The vast majority of BTC holders today own less than .01 BTC. So that won't do anything for them. BTC's distribution is already worse than that of FIAT currencies. Because BTC is supposed to be for the whole world. But most BTC is held by a few rich Americans and some whole coiners (also mostly in the US). So it doesn't help anyone (not at these levels!) in poor countries. It turned into a Western world scheme. You can gamble if you're in this world because you have access to funds and can even leverage trade it. Buying $1,000 worth of BTC in Africa might be the worst thing you can do.

Your are living ina fantasy world, all of the crypto market is nothing but a pump and dump scheme, including Bitcoin. You buy the dumb and sell the pump and Shjb is losing its hype,.so the pumps won't be a massive as before.

And the ones who accept crypto payments ,5hey are doing it via a 3rd party like Bitpay, so basically the merchants are getting paid in FIAT and not crypto .

Is bitcoin a currency or commodity? I argue it’s a commodity as I’ve never really used it as a currency when FIAT serves that purpose for daily life.
They will use it to validate their CBDC’s if they’re smart, Tether was the blueprint.

See, I can make Facebook quantum resistant and that's that, because it is a centralized company. Everyone's bank accounts could be cracked, but about the only cool thing of FIAT is that transactions are pretty much reversible. It would be a hassle, but it wouldn't be the end of civilization. Also, banks could become quantum resistant quickly because they are pretty much centralized institutions ...
See where I'm going with this?
If bitcoins gets cracked, many will celebrate it. No one to reverse it. I'd it gets cracked, it goes to zero. There wouldn't be a point in holding Bitcoin anymore. Also, since it's decentralized, it is much harder to make the network quantum resistant ... what about those bitcoins long lost in non-quantum resistant wallets?
I want to believe your argument, but I just don't see how quantum computing is an existential threat to everything as it is to Bitcoin. We should be preparing for this.

Make sense. I plan to hold it for many years until the Bitcoin Standard becomes the reality in the US, then I just exchange my BTC for what I need instead of the FIAT money. So to legally avoid the tax headache.

To get away from a central government deciding the value of a currecncy by printing money at will.
With more adoption it would become more stable in price, but no new currency can be created and be automaticly stable from the start.
Why use a stable coin when you can just use FIAT?

people will get paid in BTC. No one will want to get paid in FIAT.
Your analysis is very shortsighted.
Anyone can get their hands on BTC when there is no other currency left.
There is always someone selling, either for money or commodities or services or goods etc

I think its funny how doubters claim that the massive buying by MSTR will lead to a collapse, they don't see the entanglements and that there is a slowly then sudden collapse, but of the dollar and FIAT how we know them.
I think there will always be room for FIAT but they will be more opt in as governments lose control over the enforcement of currencies.

I make this argument all the time...and people respond to me as if I'm an idiot. Swap apps are being used to get rid of tainted coins...that's mostly the use case. Sell the tainted coins for FIAT...and - well, your name is forever associated with them.
People need to understand this.
