I’m hoping to hear from people who’ve gone through the Celsius clawback process and what outcomes you’ve had.
I was initially offered an 8.3% settlement early on. In hindsight, I probably should have taken it. At the time, I didn’t agree with the clawback process on principle and made the decision to fight it if it came to that.
Recently, I received a notice that there was an entry of default in my case. Between that, the stress of everything, and having a baby on the way, I’m starting to feel like continuing to fight this may not be worth it.
My main question is this:
Has anyone successfully gone back to Celsius or the Litigation Administrator and been able to settle closer to their original offer after initially declining? If so, what did that process look like?
I’m also trying to understand whether legal representation actually improves outcomes and would appreciate hearing real experiences with the following:
Roland Jones
Dan Brisikof
DOF Defense Group
For context, I’ve heard Roland Jones typically asks for a retainer north of $4k, and I know some early Celsius clients who worked with him ended up settling closer to 12%.
DOF Defense Group quoted $500 upfront plus 1% of the final settlement amount, which seems more manageable, but I haven’t found many firsthand experiences yet.
I haven’t heard much at all about Dan Brisikof, good or bad, so I’m especially curious if anyone has worked with him.
I fully expect to pay something. I’m just trying to understand what’s realistic and whether hiring counsel meaningfully changed the settlement percentage or process.
Is anyone here handling this themselves without an attorney? If so, how is that going?
I know this situation has impacted a lot of people. For those who lost money and are dealing with real financial damage, I genuinely empathize. I personally lost a significant amount in Vauld as well. Ironically, I moved funds from Celsius to Vauld because the yields were higher, so this has been a double hit. I’m not really in a position to throw a lot of money at legal fees or a large settlement.
