Ok ; thanks for your feedback. BB, it’s just too early for me. And you’re right of course. It’s just my choice (doesn’t pass my checklist).
I wish your thesis on BB plays out well, or even better than expected.
I do think there is something there (not the 1st time I came across BB in recent months).

How likey it is one day BB will change it to a subscription model?

I used to work with a small software company based in Canada that makes computer aided dispatching software for wildland fire agencies … our agency had a contract with them. Ironically BB is in quantum too! 

Palantir has already positioned itself to get the bulk of the defense contracts. BB has had poor earnings reports, burning cash, not profitable, in a ton of debt. If they snag a huge government contract it can change but right now. Meh.

BB already alerting you that the market is in low range with no direction, it should not annoy you, it's just untradeable stage of trend, wait for the break to start new trend.
the saying is: trend is your friend until the bend at the end, aka low range with no direction :)

A group of people are still going to make it happen and then OEMs in the future (min 8 years out) will jump ship to try and go it alone simply due to some accountant pointing at the bottom line and telling there bosses that they need to cut costs.
We are arguing over hypotheticals though and the fact right now is that BB has the market cornered and we just need to see revenue.

The shorts have managed to hack the call options market for almost a decade. They have made the options look lucrative by pushing the stock price into the ludicrous territory and then they will eat up your options by timing their manipulation on the day of their maturity. Happens every single time, especially when it is a big pot.. This is what is feeding the shorts.
If people stopped buying calls (which they are likely losing anyways) and just bought the stock and held - would the shorts leave ? Like bedbugs who are forced to leave when there is no new supply of blood? Everyone stop playing BB options (that market is rigged), just buy the stock and retire rich.

If Blackrock just owned less than 4,000,000 BB shares, according to the same calculating method, Vanguard owned less than 4,000,000 BB shares at most.

The debenture holders would also benefit from the buyback as their $3.88 conversion value of the stock would leapfrog to fair market value for the correct valuation .i.e. multiple expansion. Also BB has stipulation that it can buyback the debentures too! This would encourage to purchase more shares on the open market. The balance sheet is improving.
