We gave portfolio of 5.5m - currently about 1.25m in cash (pulled back very recently and just selling low puts on indexes to get a 2-3% a month plus a few bucks of interest). 2.75m is in invested in a basket of ETFs balanced between growth and Covered call high yield funds (making about 20k a month). A small bit of individual stock including TSLA - just a few shares left from the good old days when I 10x’d precovid and paid off a house, MSFT which is a holding from when I worked there in the early 2000’s, SPCX (wife’s call but good for a fun ride so far), AMZN, and a few other small positions

If you use Trading View you can get the general idea of the shape of the trend with a PINE script similar to this - though I think we're getting some not perfect TOTAL\_SHARES\_OUTSTANDING that is leading to some error...
//@version=5
indicator("SPCX / TSLA calculated market cap", precision=3)
spcx\_px = request.security("NASDAQ:SPCX", timeframe.period, close)
tsla\_px = request.security("NASDAQ:TSLA", timeframe.period, close)
spcx\_sh = request.financial("NASDAQ:SPCX", "TOTAL\_SHARES\_OUTSTANDING", "FQ")
tsla\_sh = request.financial("NASDAQ:TSLA", "TOTAL\_SHARES\_OUTSTANDING", "FQ")
spcx\_mcap = spcx\_px \* spcx\_sh
tsla\_mcap = tsla\_px \* tsla\_sh
ratio = spcx\_mcap / tsla\_mcap
plot(ratio, "SPCX mcap / TSLA mcap", [color=color.orange](http://color=color.orange), linewidth=2)

Best strategy is choose a volatile stock like TSLA and check the last move before the closing. If going down bet it will likely gap down, so you wait at the open for a red bar to close on a 2 min chart below the 20 moving average and you dive into puts and exit after 3 red candles/3 red pushes down.
If stock open above the moving average and it's a green candle just dive into longs and both scenarios should have a strict stop loss of below the entry bar. This way when you re right on the direction you will win good, and when you lose, you will only lose 1 bar.

Someone needs to create a live ticker that calculates the ratio of SPCX market cap to TSLA market cap.

The after hours volume is the part that gets me. Once tokenized stocks keep trading while the actual market is closed they start behaving like their own market. Pump.fun adding stocks like AAPL, TSLA, GOOGL etc as supported pair assets on Solana makes that whole lane even weirder

Congrats on getting it to click man, 2 years on and off and you've recovered what you lost learning. That's further than most people get and I wouldn't skip past it.
On the first one, all 3 work honestly. But you set a cap today and traded an hour later anyway so I don't think the rule is what's missing. The one almost nobody sets is a profit cap... you were up 3R with nothing in the plan telling you a good day was finished. And that hour gap wasn't tilt, you weren't angry, you were just watching. Closing the platform when you're done handles most of it on its own imo.
I had a TSLA day where I wanted the upside so bad I could picture myself walking out of my office on cloud nine. Didn't take it. I may have missed whatever I could have made today, but I may have also saved myself from more losses in the future.
Second question is the one I'd actually enjoy talking about. I think you're treating the post as the cause and it wasn't. He was reacting to headlines that had been sitting there all weekend, so nobody learned anything new. The market was reading the same thing he was, it just doesn't have to stop and type it out.
And I say this gently because everybody does it, me included... you remember the drift on days something confirmed it. The days price wandered and nothing ever came, those are GONE. Log every one you notice for a month, duds included, and you'll get your answer out of your own data instead of a theory.

That's the painful irony of it retail panics and sells right at the exact level where institutional buyers are calmly stepping in to load up.
A classic example is Tesla ($TSLA) back in late 2019 when it broke its multi-year resistance around the split-adjusted $24 range. It surged, pulled back right to that old ceiling to retest it as support, shook out everyone who panicked, and then took off. Waiting for that confirmation might feel slow, but like you said, it keeps you from getting slaughtered by bull traps.

We keep talking about TSLA and SPCX being overvalued. These stocks have several years of over performance baked in.

How has $TSLA maintained its valuation this decade? Its market value equals the top 37 traditional rival automakers and major parts suppliers combined. When you get enough people invested in a con for long enough, it becomes self-sustaining (also, see: crypto) regardless of beliefs. People don't have to believe him they just have to believe they will benefit before others lose.
