>Let’s say you’re one of these “cycle” bros who think that bitcoin is predestined to fall between -30%, -60%, or more during 2026.
>Right now, you can buy $IBIT long puts that expire in January of 2027 at a $42 strike. They’re $4 a contract.
>If you’re right and bitcoin falls -30% from by next July, you’ll make 40% on your money. If it falls -60%, you’ll make 330%+. $12,000 —> $52k.
>If you’re so convinced and saying this “time isn’t different,” put the trade on, bro.

Blackrock is buying and keeping it at Coinbase and Archorage bank through custodial ownership. They did the same thing in the months leading up to the release of IBIT. It just sits there but it's no longer for sale.

I think you may be wrong. I have over $200,000 in bitcoin yield ETFs. These are in RRSP and my maxed out TFSA, which is down to $95 from a high of $107,000. The monthly dividend/yield is almost $2,000. The fund uses 'covered calls' in the futures market to generate income of 11 to 12% that is paid monthly. I have 2 funds. One is up 44.75% in a year in value and the other is up 58.84% in 3 months. I didn't start buying these until July 14 and August 6 when I sold all my IBIT ETFs. My totals are down until bitcoin hits the levels it was at on those dates.
In December I will move about $40,000 from my TFSA to RRSP. This will lower my gross income for 2025 by $40,000. In January 2026, I can add that $40,000 back to TFSA, plus the $7,000 yearly top up allowed.
In 5 years, I will be drinking champagne on a yacht, either way I will still have my ETFs or similar.

I hold 7 stocks in one of my IRA, bought them two weeks back: AMZN, FUBO, ASST, BTCI, IBIT and AVGO and ANET. Five of them were a loss in the last week and I had to sell.

tldr; Crypto ETFs experienced over $500 million in outflows in a single day, with Bitcoin funds losing $258 million and Ether ETFs shedding $251 million. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was the only fund to attract inflows, gaining $79 million, while competitors like Fidelity, Bitwise, and ARK faced significant withdrawals. The downturn coincided with Bitcoin dropping below $109,000 and Ethereum sliding 8% to $3,900. Despite the sell-off, ETF product development continues, with new filings and approvals from the SEC, including Bitwise's Hyperliquid ETF and BlackRock's Bitcoin Premium ETF.

> **Vanguard’s CEO Salim Ramji**, a 10-year BlackRock veteran, oversaw the launch of BlackRock’s wildly successful Bitcoin ETF IBIT [...] **Since taking the helm at Vanguard last year**, many wonder if he will take a page from his former boss Larry Fink’s playbook.
Vanguard just changed leadership from an anti-crypto CEO to a pro-crypto CEO. So of course this means they stop what the old CEO wanted and start what the new CEO wants. No capitulation here.
That being said, the decision to restrict self-directed accounts from purchasing crypto ETFs was idiotic in the first place. No shit there's "strong client demand".
It's actually insane that Vanguard, famous for being the #1 most financially stable and ideologically consistent brokerage in the world, is flip-flopping their stance on crypto one year after the next. The only force powerful enough to get Vanguard to 180 on a key policy like this is a wall street establishment that (1) fudded crypto and made it hard to buy, (2) loaded up their bags, and (3) are ready to pump it now, after shaking retail out.

I have to second this. With that kind of capital you’re going to wanna have a diversified portfolio of ETFs, crypto, and maybe some individual stocks.
If I could go back in time to when I started investing and only buy, bitcoin, I would be much better off. I doubt I would’ve been able to hold through the dips though. The good news is I do believe bitcoin will go to $1 million over the next decade. Personally I’m holding IBIT and will DCA till that $1m, but swing trade BITU alongside that in bullish conditions. I do the same with ETHA/ETHT. Have some BMNR long term as well.
With a magic wand, I would go back and only hold bitcoin, but no one can predict that type of thing really and diversification has really been my best friend. It’s so easy to hold long-term when you have a diversified portfolio.

80% in BTC, 20% in stocks and shares ISA. I still like having exposure to stocks as a) it's nice to invest in companies that do / produce things you want to increase in the world (at good valuations) and b) nice mentally to not have all eggs in one basket, although I do think Bitcoin will succeed, still nice mentally.

I think it has been significantly spread out now however, I am concerned that BlackRock's IBIT is somewhat centralising it. I would rather the spread that has occurred be directly into BTC but I can understand some demographics simply wouldn't have done so if it wasn't for IBIT, so double-edged sword.

Open an IBKR account and transfer your securities there.
(IBKR offers 70% leverage on BTC via IBIT at 6 percent’ish interest)
- Only use 10-20% leverage and buy IBIT
- When BTC dips = no big deal
- When BTC pumps = use appreciated BTC as collateral to pay off margin… then rinse repeat.
