They are also going to scale up the capital gains tax applied to foreign investors to 50% from the current 15%. I don't know why so few people aren't talking about this, if the bill passes, you're going to see a massive outflow of money from the US to the EU and Asia.

Hallo zusammen 👋

Fragen ans r/Finanzen\-Forum:
2. Gibt es **Überschneidungen** zwischen den ETFs (z. B. All-World + S&P 500 + Nasdaq)?
3. Macht der **Europa-Dividenden-ETF** in diesem Setup Sinn?

English isn’t my first language so it’s a bit hard for me to understand what this means. So if there is a trade conflict between the US and the EU again, is it possible that I, a European who owns a lot of US stocks and live in the US on a visa, gets affected by this?

I prefer to think that the reporter was also a degenerate who had puts and was salty that the market was pumping after he gave the EU an extension![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)

30% could certainly wreck the economy along with everything else.. it doesn't happen instantly. There's a pretty high chance we'll have inflation and a recession (stagflation) which is particularly hard to address.
Anyway is it really 30% when today he's saying China violated the "deal" and it was only temporary anyway? Are tariffs back on or off, the 90 day pause is almost up? Who knows. The EU had 50% tarrifs for what a day? This is insanely incompetent BS and exactly what TACO describes.
Trump folded absolutely multiple times, it doesn't really matter if one decision is terrible and the other less terrible.

I saw that S&P500 was a great long term investment. I liked the invesco as a good long term player. Is there another great long term ETF in say thr British/EU market that would more balance my portfolio?

1) Manufacturing capacity takes years and years to plan and build, and POTUS terms out in 4 years, so there’s no reason to bring back capacity rather than wait it out.
2) US labor and material costs are so much higher that even with tariffs and a POTUS with a 10-year term, many industries will still just prefer to let US consumers pay for the tariffs.
3) American access to foreign markets, especially relevant ones we care most about like the EU, is already close to unfettered.
4) American consumption is as strong as it is in large part because it does not rely on access to foreign markets. Europeans don’t have the buying power of Americans, so selling to Americans is better anyway.
5) Using American consumption as leverage creates a ton of downside risks to the economy by dampening sentiment, increasing uncertainty and costs, with extremely limited upside per the above points.
The whole thing makes no sense.

I would sell AAPL, but I’m holding it cause don’t want to pay tax on the gain which is about 1000% since I bought. With Trump, China, possible recession, lack of new product category it isn’t great. Just the sheer size attracts all the governments EU/ US to legislate and tax and tariff them. They are even suing google to remove them as default search engine for which aapl gets billions a year. Out of the mag 7, amzn and google are better value and bets. Also re-shoring to US will not happen, they might put up assembly like they did in India, but that’s a major stretch itself. Even for assembly in India, china was putting roadblocks and etc. they have 25 million people working assembling phones and producing all the sub components, I’m sure they don’t want those jobs going elsewhere. Apple is stuck in China, even if they completely automate assembly it will not happen, China will put up so many roadblocks that they won’t be able to export components.

Funny but also a fact that you don't see other countries' presidents or US oligarchs openly dismiss Trump's absurd or stupid idea because of the potential unbalanced repercussion just simply outweigh any short moment of satisfaction by making fun of him.
Same as you don't want to provoke a monkey with AK47 have it start shooting all around. The reporter has her fun making joke on Trump, but if Trump now takes it seriously and act tough on tariff to keep 50% EU or 145% China, you'll see lots of investors, people suffer dearly for this stupid joke.

Looking for 20 years plus just ETF, fire and forget. Sell the single stock.
You're clearly trying to jump on bandwagons anyway. But if EU defence, but if priced in games and nvidia why not. But if that's 'im new' how many single stock are you going to dump in over the next 20 years. Some will hit, some won't and it will dillute your profits.
Just ETF and forget in your sitch

Just looked up this World Bank info, and unless I'm wrong, the most recent data is 2023 for both and it puts the [EU at around 18 trillion ](https://data.worldbank.org/country/european-union) and the US around 27 trillion. Where'd you get the 2025 numbers?

Hi, I have done some research and looked to start investing. I'm late to the game but looking for 20 -25 years long term investing with a couple of individual companies to invest in. Approx £100 - £150 pm. Are these choices at least in the right direction? The individual companies I have chosen are Take Two interactive (owners of Rockstar Games) Rheinmetall ( A EU defence contractor) and Ynvisible Interactive (an Epaper company). I'm putting a predictive chance on these as GTA6 will eventually come out, Military spending is on the rise in Europe and I like the genuine outlook for Ynvisible .
Any thoughts or ideas that could benefit or improve my investing (long or short term).
Appreciate you reading this and replying.

Buddy, I'm aware there was a UK trade deal... but touting it as a "major" deal is fucking hilarious. My used piece of toilet paper is worth more than that deal. So where are the actual important deals? Is the administration even negotiating with china, india and the EU? Almost certainly not. Keep going on about the UK deal if it makes you feel better i suppose.
Saudi arabia and qatar hold billions of US oil dollars. Where else are they going to spend it? Clearly you don't know anything lmao

In 2025 the US gdp is estimated at $30 Trn the EU estimated at $28trn. (World Bank). I market a lot in the EU, the standards are the same for most of what I sell (what used to be infomercial goods, small appliances et al). The Germans are a big market, they love buying off of the television still.

Deiner Rentenversicherung wird da was einfallen.

In welchem bist du denn?
