It's a SPAC for an online gun retailer named grabagun, DJT Jr is on the board. Historically SPACs where the Trump family were involved pumped hard up to the day of the merger, such as DWAC. Same idea here, though the float is very low compared to some of the other SPACs which could blow the top off this thing.

I'm looking to get July $20 calls. For anyone saying this is a "buy the rumor, sell the news" on the SEC approving it is wrong. The most anticipated date is the merger date when it changes to PEW and Don Jr rungs the bell. Just because some traders took profit and wanna buy back later just shows how low the volume is. DWAC/DJT dipped on the S4 getting approved by the SEC and was much higher a couple weeks later

do you see any similarities with how this moves vs like DWAC? i think DWAC was trading higher around the time but i think that's because that was mostly papa trump.
i imagine if he says anything about this, it'll fly.

I don't think Trump SEC is completely fangless, and this type of infraction is pretty clear cut / provable but agree there's less a lot less regulatory risk than a Gensler regime. Real cost is the delayed merger and 20+ S-4/A's that the spac has go through while they deal with a potential investigation like DWAC did (and Apex/Northern Star which also got their deal effectively canceled by the SEC for this)
