Individual stocks are always higher risk versus ETFs or mutual funds. AAPL is the only individual stock I have anymore, but I’ve owned it for many years. CRSP has some serious potential, but I grew impatient and sold it. If NVDA or MSFT have another big dip, I might buy some, but it’s kinda silly since they already exist in most index funds.
Happy to give you some favorite ETFs though. IDMO is a beast for international, and I’m fond of FIVA as well.
I have a small position for ICOP. I genuinely believe copper and copper mining are a smart investment in the coming decades.
FSELX is volatile but otherwise a great mutual fund for semiconductors.
I contribute a little every week to FBTC. I don’t like cryptocurrency, but sadly I think it’s here to stay. I won’t deny it, it’s performed very well.

Hey FriendlyRedditor09. Thanks for the comments.
I’m pretty selective. I look for companies I’d be fine owning long-term. Companies with a moat of some kind, solid leadership, or a compelling business story. I’m not just scanning for high IV or chasing premium, although I do take those into consideration. Picking stocks means that you will have some losers. There are so many variables out there and you can't possibly know everything about every compnay.
Have I taken a loss? Yeah, definitely. I’ve had CSPs get assigned and then watched the stock drop well below my strike. In some cases, it’s taken a long time to recover, and in others, I’ve just had to manage the position slowly. Robinhood was an example of this. I bought at IPO and averaged down to $14.70 per share. This was a come-back story and you asked for situations that never came back. In general, I bought into the weed-stock hype and am still bag holding TLRY, SNDL, CGC, and a few others.
I am still bullish on the gene-editing tickers like CRSP, EDIT, NTLA and a few others. I think combining AI with gene-editing can be significant when it comes to curing disease. That said, I am down thousands on these stocks.
What would I recommend? Personally, I have had the most regrets selling stocks too early. I am in it for the long term and would rather see some losers go to zero and some winners go to 10 baggers than sell too early.
I guess my point is to do the research upfront and stick with your picks. They may end up coming back and surprising you.
Hope this is useful. Best of luck!

CRSP (no divi), SKHHY, BK, JPM, BRKB
More my personal gambles- DHR, HOLX (iirc no divi)
My basis for boring is basically opposite of news centric super stocks like MSFT or NVDA

- **Historical Move v Implied Move:** We determine the historical volatility (standard deviation of daily log returns) of the underlying asset and compare that to the current implied volatility (IV) of the option price. We use the same DTE as a look back period. This is used to determine the Call or Put Premium associated with the pricing of options (implied volatility).

- **Directional Bias:** Ranges from negative (bearish) to positive (bullish) and accounts for RSI, price trend, moving averages, and put/call skew over the past 6 weeks.
- **Priced Move:** given the current option prices, how much in dollar amounts will the underlying have to move to make the call/put break even. This is how much vol the option is pricing in. The expected move.
- **Expiration:** 2025-08-01.
- **Call/Put Premium:** How much extra you are paying for the implied move relative to the historic move. Low numbers mean options are "cheaper." High numbers mean options are "expensive."
- **Efficiency:** This factor represents the bid/ask spreads and the depth of the order book relative to the price of the option. It represents how much traders will pay in slippage with a round trip trade. Lower numbers are less efficient than higher numbers.
- **E.R.:** Days unitl the next Earnings Release. This feature is still in beta as we work on a more complete list of earnings dates.
- **Why isn't my stock on this list?** It doesn't have "weeklies", the underlying is "too cheap", or the options markets are too illiquid (open interest) to qualify for this strategy. 480 underlyings are used in this report and only the top results end up passing the criteria for each filter.
