I fiddled around with XRP and other crypto's, honestly I see promising tech to be used by financial institutions, but holding onto the tokens at this point is completely speculative. As an end user the hold transferring tokens to wallets back to exchange was a pain, all kinds of warnings about making sure a specific memo is attached so the tokens "don't get lost". Ended my dabbling with like hyper-fractions just hanging around in the various wallets and exchanges.
All my dabbling did was cement in my opinion that people really will buy anything.

I heard about this community coin looking to flip the stock market - just listed on Coinbase.
They have the one of strongest movements in crypto, that’s what made XRP great, the community.
The issue is XRP is tech-first, not community-first and top heavy meaning VCs control it.
Pure community coins change this there are no VCs and value is spread across the community more effectively.
It’s true decentralization. It’s the next big thing.

Bloomberg analyst puts odds of Litecoin, Solana and XRP ETF approvals at 100%
The SEC deadlines for potential approval of various issuers' Litecoin, Solana, and XRP ETFs were set for Oct. 2, Oct. 10, and Oct. 17, respectively. However, the SEC could now approve or deny these at any time.

The problem is that it's close to it's all-time high. The idea is buying low and selling high. There's a lot of FOMO around XRP going to $100, then $1000. The truth is no one can predict the future. Just yesterday Swift announced their own DLT which put a dent in the XRP narrative.
If it goes to $100 in a year or two, then yes a few dollars now can give a great return. But no one knows if it will, or will be replaced by something better.

There is a huge cash pool the banks need to hold daily for transfers. XRP solves this problems and banks doesnt need to lock up wast ammount of money all the time.
This was way simplified. There is better explinations out there!

I have those to with the addition of VeChain and Cardano. I’ve held XRP since 2019 and have been hell bent on not selling it. Recently though I’ve decided I will, and buy back in in a year. If it hits $7+ I’ll start selling. Otherwise, I’m selling everything else and buying back in. If the market does any kind of correction like in the past it’ll be worth it.

XRP has been around for more than a decade and has yet to deliver on it's promises. I see XRP one of the coins most likely to crash, and crash hard, in the near future.

I considered XRP but general advise was it has matured, short term gains possible but long term stagnation likely.

No one can predict price moving forward.
We're waiting on ETFs, bank approval and possible takeover/partnership of SWIFT transactions.
Ripple has been laying ground work for over a decade to be mass inseminated as a trusted, reliable and backed transaction payment system. You can google key phrases such as "who is ripple partnered with // which banks/countries are using ripple's blockchain".
Everything outside of that is speculative and/or FUD.
You decide when to sell that's best for you, probably after today's dip and resurge if you need cash quickly.
Otherwise October is packed full of promising events surrounding Ripple and XRP.
Sell what you need, buy what you can afford. Above all else, only listen to yourself in what decisions you make.
Edit: source: someone who doesn't watch price daily, i'll check it in 5+ years.

They run on a mix of things across many, many services, correct. But when it comes to international financial messaging standards it's basically just SWIFT. Domestic is a different story and you're correct to call out those players out.
Apply Pay is just a vehicle to make using Visa & Mastercard simpler for people. It's not like Apple themselves are involved in the majority of the tx, it's a service to hold a digital credit card. So not quite an "apples to apples" comparison.
I think XRP's cash reserves alone are enough to keep them in the game for a while but like any business they need to actually find product market fit. The Ripple/XRP community still seems to believe they're going to find that as a platform for international messaging while the reality is they have already pivoted their product goals away from that hence why they're putting so much resources into RLUSD. I think they're not stupid and will likely find a place in this machine, but to believe they're going to replace SWIFT to me shows a complete lack of awareness of what that means. SWIFT is very well financed, with all of the right connections, and is run by some of the smartest, most forward thinking people in finance. They're not going to sit idle, as you can see. They're adapting. They see a multi-chain world and they want to be at the heart of that.

SWIFT has started testing Ripple's XRP Ledger and Hedera's Hashgraph for blockchain-based cross-border payments to optimise efficiency and interoperability. The goal of these tests is to improve the integration of blockchain technology with existing banking systems!
Yeah and absolutely right ETH going into swift is impossible! The gas fees would be hilarious 😂
It's XRP all the way!

All of these banks are just testing the new Swift Ether alliance but Ether is too slow and gas fees are too much. Putting Ether into Swift is like putting a 1987 Atari game into a 1975 Pong Video game or like putting a Honda Engine into a Model T. XRP is way ahead in speed, low costs and interoperability
