To use RLUSD, you have to use XRP. Every RLUSD transaction burns XRP as a transaction fee.

BlackRock holds more Bitcoin than any other entity except Satoshi Nakamoto, making it the largest institutional holder of the cryptocurrency and surpassing other major holders like MicroStrategy. The market just broke the largest news on XRP yet. Ripple has officially bridged its stablecoin, RLUSD, directly into the operations of institutional giants BlackRock and VanEck, a move that is setting the stage for the true explosion of the entire XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem.
This is the XRP news that separates the utility-driven assets from the rest. While the stablecoin is the direct beneficiary, the core infrastructure is the XRPL, which means a fundamental expansion of utility for the native asset, XRP.
The market reacted, with XRP surging immediately after the announcement, signaling the end of the consolidation phase for XRP.

LINK is using RLUSD, which uses XRP.  LINK is providing battle tested infrastructure, and RLUSD/XRP is providing the liquidity.  You need oil in the car for it work.

Not true. I would bet my bag that the future is likely a hybrid model. It only makes sense. Ripple’s system and SWIFT are both the rails for global payments, but in different ways. SWIFT is upgrading its legacy messaging network (with gpi, CBDCs, ISO 20022) to stay relevant, while Ripple’s XRPL actually moves value directly using XRP or RLUSD. In a hybrid future, banks may use SWIFT for messaging (as it has been) and XRPL/XRP for instant settlement when speed or liquidity bridging is needed. This way, SWIFT keeps its dominance, but Ripple carves out high-value niches where it adds efficiency. Then after that, who knows what as the technologies advance. It will do your brain better to think less emotionally and more practically. It's literally what the entire crypto/blockchain was built on - change has a logical progression.

From my understanding, he is stepping down from CTO, to board member, he is focusing on XRPL not RLUSD, since the ledger is his baby.

So everyone keeps talking about how xrp will be used to facilitate transactions for banks moving huge amounts of money which means xrp will undoubtably go up. But can someone explain to me why they wouldn’t just use the stablecoin RLUSD for said transactions?

Why? CRCL is still way overvalued and they’re gna have competition from RLUSD. I sold at 250. Good company but business model is entirely tied to treasuries, don’t see the bull case here
