As someone who lives in LA, I think citing the protests are a silly reason. It’s the largest county by population in the US and the protest is largely confined to a few areas downtown. If you want to diversify for the debt, sure go for it, but the dollar is still global reserve currency, anything that happens to the dollar will reverberate globally.

I think OP is overreacting to what’s happening in LA but there is a point to understand about the influence of mass media. It might seem nebulous but it’s worth contemplating in a world where people seem to be increasingly swayed by online content as it spills over into the real world

Conspiracy theory:
Trump/Elon feud was a work, so they could have plausible deniability when Elon uses X/Twitter to piss off enough people in LA to start a riot, which Trump then uses to call in National Guard, with the eventual end goal of declaring Martial Law

While LA burns, I think the truth of the matter is Trump is going to negotiate a huge deal with China that is going to absolutely blow the top off the stock market.
