I need to travel a lot for family, so keeping track of miles/points helps keep me focused on always having a card application/minimum spend in process.
I've averaged >1 card per year for the last 15 years with BOA.

Fidelity uses UMB Bank out of Kansas City. For as long as we have been there (15? years)
We have a Fidelity office in our medium sized city that we can go into when the need arises. I think we have been twice for our daughter's trust account.
We got punch drunk on fees with BOA( and other banks).
Everybody has a banking "hate" story. Or a banking nightmare.
Customer service in almost every industry has gone the way of the Dodo bird.

We have small amounts (less than $100K in Chase. and the Chase Sapphire Reserve for travel. When in Europe, we use the Fidelity cards because we have never had a problem. Even with Chase's elevated rewards card, it get stopped or declined more often than we would like.
If OP accumulates significant amounts of funds, he/she is eventually going to have a cash management, or individual investment account(or likely both). Most index ETFs like VOO and VTI have lower dividend percentages so they wont' be much of a tax burden in a non-tax advantaged account. In theory, the OP would only invest and not make any transactions until they approach retirement, or have other cash needs down the road. So only LTCG would apply.
Thanks for the input. I swore off anything to do with BOA 20 years ago when we had our business accounts there. Not that Wells, or Chase is better.
