Airswap is a peer-to-peer, non-custodial exchange protocol and network for trading ERC20 tokens that allows traders to identify potential counterparties, negotiate directly (and privately), and execute on-chain. Order Matching Orders are aggregated and matched using the AirSwap Indexer. When a market maker is interested in trading, they post an indication of interest to buy or sell a certain asset off-chain via the Indexer. Prospective Takers can then query the Indexer to identify potential counterparties. When a Taker sees an order they wish to accept, they are matched with the Maker and can negotiate directly using the Peer Protocol. As this negotiation occurs, either party can request a quote from an Oracle which provides prices based on off-chain market information. Trade Execution Once an agreement is reached an expiration is determined after which point the agreement is nullified. At any time before execution, the Maker can also cancel the order. Otherwise, the Taker can call an on-chain atomic swap to ensure the order matches the specifications of the trader and that the time indicated in expiration has not passed. Once that occurs, the order is filled.
