USDT was always a criminal company, centralized and could control your money at any point.
Why did your friend use it? How introduced him to p2p cash? Why didn't they tell him about the scammers and pitfalls?
>Kindly suggest any cheap solutions to this
Use sound money like BCH and XMR.

I keep seeing people say that BTC dominance rejected from around 66% in June 2025 and has been trending down since.
I think that interpretation is misleading.
I checked [CoinGecko ](https://coingecko.com)and [CoinTrends](https://cointrends.xyz), and there are currently 16 stablecoins in the top 100. That is not insignificant. Stablecoins are a large enough part of the market that they can meaningfully change how BTC dominance looks.
[This chart shows](https://cointrends.xyz/charts/dominance?stables=false) that when stablecoins are excluded, **BTC dominance is actually around 66%** right now.
That's a crazy difference!
On May 11th, 2026, this same metric was around 69%, which was the highest level in the past 5 years.
I’m not trying to draw a huge conclusion from this, but I do think the “BTC dominance is falling off a cliff” narrative some people are trying to sell is not accurate at all.
In the past, stablecoins may have been a small and mostly insignificant part of the BTC dominance calculation. But today, with so many stablecoins in the market and USDT/USDC becoming massive by market cap, they now play a much larger role, especially with Bitcoin down almost 50% from its ATH.

ChangeNOW is the smoothest option for XMR to stablecoin swaps. No registration, supports over 850 assets including Monero and USDT, and processing takes 2-40 minutes.
[Xgram.io](https://xgram.io/) is another solid pick for XMR to USDT specifically. Non-custodial, competitive rates, and execution within minutes.
For more advanced privacy, Baltex offers Private Swaps that route through Monero as an intermediate privacy layer. Average completion time is 10-20 minutes and fees start at 0.4%.
All three options keep you off CEXs and avoid the KYC headache.

Please reminder don’t compare just the bridge fee. Compare the final amount received.
Some routes look cheap upfront but hide the cost in slippage, gas, execution speed, or liquidity. For ERC20s, I usually check:
1. final received amount
2. source-chain gas fee
3. bridge fee / relayer fee
4. route liquidity
5. whether the destination token is native or wrapped
For Ethereum → Base, aggregators are probably the first stop. For stablecoin-specific transfers, I’d also check bridges that are built around stablecoin liquidity, stablecoin-as-gas, like BenFen Bridge, especially if you’re moving USDT / USDC across supported chains.

Use an aggregator so you don't have to think about routes. Jumper compares all the top Hyperliquid bridge routes in real time (Relay, Mayan, Across), so you get the best execution, and you can bridge from 60+ chains in a single transaction. Across or deBridge also work great directly. Across does any token into USDC/USDT on Hyperliquid in one click, near-instant, most transfers under $1

I've been trying to figure out if stablecoins like USDC/USDT are worth considering for paying overseas contractors, since they're a lot cheaper than international wires. However, you have to find vendors that actually use crypto first, which isn't always easy. Does anyone use a business platform like Slash/BVNK to pay foreign contractors with stablecoins? Or are you just using them domestically with something like Stripe? What are we all doin

Dry powder that is spendable now though. Oobit connects your wallet to Visa so your USDT works at any terminal and thats what keeps people in the ecosystem its not just sitting there anymore

**Affiliation disclosure (per Rule 6):** I work on Cypher eSIM (cypheresim.com), the service this post is about. Posting because we just added Monero support after a long ask from this community
Until this month we only took BTC/USDT/ETH/USDC/SOL. As of this month, XMR is live on both our web checkout and Telegram bot.
Why now: people on r/privacy, Privacy Guides forum, and our own users kept telling us that no-KYC without XMR is half a product. They were right. The integration that didn't leak metadata to a third party took longer than we hoped, but it's finally clean.
Tech details for anyone who cares:
* Mainnet XMR,
* Integration: self-hosted XMR daemon
* No KYC, no email, no account
* One-time payment per plan, no recurring auth
* Works on web checkout or Telegram bot — both support XMR
Posting because this community asked for it and feedback from people who actually use XMR daily is more useful than internal review. Happy to answer questions about the integration choice, fee handling, edge cases.
Still on the roadmap (weigh in on priority if you want):
* Top-up on existing eSIM profile (every plan is a fresh install right now)
* Proper .onion address
* Lightning Network for BTC users

A 2 percent gap on USDC/USDT is not normal stablecoin behavior; it usually means bad route, wrong wrapper, shallow pool, chain mismatch, or hidden bridge step. For stable pairs I would compare Curve-style pools, CCTP where relevant, and at least one aggregator, then judge by final tokens received after gas.

The historical pillar of altcoins has just suffered the worst humiliation in its history. And this is just the beginning of the great reckoning. 🚨💀 The market capitalization of the stablecoin USDT (Tether) has just briefly surpassed that of Ethereum (ETH).

And if I go into my local pub I bet they don't accept USDT. I'd have to swap the USDT into real british pounds, so I might as well have used nano for the original payment and avoided the fee.
Satoshi thought the exact opposite when it comes to whether this concept is worth investing in btw:

USDT moves on the blockchain, not inside Binance

Soooo, your friend gives you their USDT deposit address from their Binance account (and the network, usually TRC20 since it's cheap, or BEP20). You withdraw USDT from BinanceUS to that address on the same network, lands in their account in a couple minutes

I’d keep it simple: XMR → reputable CEX with proper liquidity → USDC/USDT, then withdraw. DEX routes for Monero are usually messy because liquidity is thin, rates get ugly, and swap services can be slow. Privacy coins are great for what they do, but exiting into stables is where the friction really shows.
